Last November Dan and I headed for a wonderful trip to Cancun Mexico. We stayed south of Cancun at a beach called Akumal Beach. Dan spoiled his employees that have been working for him over 10 years. We all had a fabulous time and it was a great trip.

We got into our hotel late at night. We were a bit worried about the place especially after running
into a few of these lovely creatures all over.
However, when we woke up to a beautiful sunny beach, all our worries were washed away ;)

These areas were marked off for where the turtles had layed their eggs. At night we got to see them try and all get back to the ocean. So cute.

We found a little church to go to. It was the best! They were having their primary program. So sweet.
We took a day and visited the Mexico Cenotes. Beautiful fresh water caves in the middle of the jungle. We ride in on this 4-wheeler monster to the cave, then roller-coaster, zip line and repel into the cave water where we got to snorkel through the cave.
OY! I did it! This stuff scared me out of my mind!

We also spent a couple of days visiting the ancient ruins and cycling through the jungle.
This is the basket ball court. Do you see the round hoops in the middle of the slope? The ball was a human head. Then the winners were the ones who got sacrificed because they were better and stronger. Crazy!

Xel-Ha (you say it like shell-Ha) This is where we spent one of our days in Mexico. Rope courses, zip lines, lazy rivers, snorkeling, yummy food, Dolphins, biking, shopping and sleeping in hammocks. So fun!

Time to go home to the snowy mountains. We will come back to visit again
