December 19th

For Family home evening we made hot cocoa and read a story out of Kassidee's favorite magazine, The Friend.   We choose a story called "The Gift"  Based on a true story. Its about a little girl named Sofia and her family who are quarantined to their home over the holiday. Sofia has a hard time getting in the christmas spirit. To Sofia, no tree, no gifts, and no christmas dinner meant no Christmas. Isak, Sofia's older brother sets up a surprise for his family. He sets up the families nativity scene for christmas out on their property. Sofia loves it, and thinks its the most beautiful thing she has ever seen. With the "Angels, shepherds, and Wise men gathered around Mary, Joseph, and the baby Jesus." Sofia suddenly knew that even with out all those things she thought made a christmas, she knew that there would alway be the gift of the Savior and that was enough for her.
